Seahawks select CB Tre Brown with 137th pick

With their second of only three picks in the 2021 NFL Draft the Seahawks selected Tre Brown CB from Oklahoma. At 5’10” and 186-pounds Brown is ideally suited to playing nickel at the NFL level as he lacks the ideal size for the boundary.

A 3-year starter at Oklahoma, Tre Brown started at CB 3-seasons registering 4 interceptions, 3 of which came in his senior year. Brown also has some kick return potential averaging 22 yards per return and also recorded 3 sacks. Brown has great aggression and will fit well in the Seahawks scheme.

Draft Network had this to say about him, “Playing in 51 career games at Oklahoma, Tre Brown has spent all of his career as an outside cornerback. Possessing an aggressive demeanor overall, he isn’t shy with wanting to mix things up at the line of scrimmage, but most notably in route stems. His grabby nature of wanting to hang onto matchups will need to be a coaching point that needs to be resolved. With lots of twitch at the line of scrimmage, he’s able to successfully mirror a lot of wideouts.
